These are the manufacturers' own claims, read from their product pages on 23 September 2026. We have not worn or timed any of these sets and do not claim to have.

The pattern is clear and it is about adhesive, not brand: tabs are a few days, pre-applied is about a week and a half, glue is a fortnight, and heavy glue on a thick reusable tip is the outlier.

How long they last with glue specifically

Glue sets cluster at "up to 14 days" because that is roughly how long a well-applied cyanoacrylate bond survives daily handwashing before the edges start to release. Two weeks is also, not coincidentally, about how long a salon gel manicure lasts before regrowth makes it look untidy — so a glue set is a direct substitute.

Static Nails' thirty-day figure is real but conditional, and the brand says so: it assumes a generous glue layer. A thin layer on the same product gets you a few days. That is not a contradiction, it is the honest statement that wear time is mostly an application decision.

The four variables that decide your result

1. Oil on the nail plate. The biggest single factor and the easiest to fix. Use the prep pad, or isopropyl alcohol, immediately before applying.
2. Fit. A tip wider than your nail leaves a lip at the sidewalls that catches on everything. Size count is why this page keeps sending you to the main roundup.
3. Length. Longer tips give knocks more leverage against the bond. Short sets genuinely outlast long ones.
4. The first two hours. Hot water and washing up before the bond has fully cured is how most sets lose their first nail.

What water, heat and washing up actually do

Cured cyanoacrylate is water-resistant, not waterproof, and repeated wet-dry cycles work the bond loose from the edges inward. Hot water accelerates it. This is why sets almost always start lifting at the sidewalls rather than in the middle, and why the person who washes up by hand twice a day gets less wear than the person who does not, with identical products.
